Pilates and Yoga Classes


PILATES: A class that aims to develop the body's "centre" in order to create a stable core for all types of movement. This means there are a lot of abdominal and back exercises designed to increase strength, flexibility, posture, & reduce the risk of back injury. Most PILATES exercises are stationery and performed whilst laying on the floor. There is no choreography and NO IMPACT on joints, making it ideal for everyone. Each exercise has different levels from, easy to difficult, resulting in this class being great for the beginner or the advanced participant.

TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA: 35mins of asana, 10 mins of pranayama and then flowing into meditation. Pranayama are breathing exercises which clear the physical and emotional obstacles in our body to free the breath and so the flow of prana - life energy

YOGA: Designed to tone, strengthen, and align the body. Yoga classes increase flexibility, suppleness, inner strength and can aid in stress management. Yoga postures are performed to make the spine supple and healthy, and to promote blood flow to all the bodies organs, keeping all the bodily systems in balance. On the mental level, yoga uses breathing techniques and meditation to quiet, clarify, and discipline the mind.

HATHA YOGA: A discipline that helps unify mind and body. There is a natural realignment of the body when postures are held and synchronised with breath.

HATHA YOGA INTERMEDIATE: Minimal instructions given. Knowledge of basic postures and your body's limitations and possibilities required.

POWER YOGA: Expect an energetic class, combining breath with strong dynamic movements. Aimed at improving strength and flexibility, you will leave this class feeling worked out and calm. You may even break a sweat for all levels!

JAPANESE YOGA: Based on the 5 Element theory (the principals of Yin & Yang) Japanese yoga uses repetitive movement, traditional Hatha postures and breath to give the individual a greater sense of balance, self awareness, strength and wellness.

YIN RESTORATIVE YOGA: Positions are held softly for longer periods to allow space in the body to open and calming the nervous system from stress. Perfect for winding down in the evening.

With separate free weights, fixed weights, cardio areas with cardio theatre, as well as 33 classes per week, Whether you want to tone, strengthen, get fit, work on flexibility or just decrease your stress levels, what you decide to do is up to you!
